Large scale, comprehensive public artworks representing the Papakura iwi, natural environment and community narrative throughout the development. Incl. Glass canopies, 60m of entrance walls, storyboards/signage, library wall murals and glass graphics.

Papakura Library, Museum and Community Facilities
The architectural design, detailing and artwork have been inspired by the natural environment and important geographical sites of Papakura - Pukekiwiriki Pā in the east and the Pahurehure Inlet – Manukau Harbour - in the west. Visitors are welcomed under a canopy of leaves through which light dapples and the kereru swoops.
The walkway symbolises the awa (river) and carries visitors through the space - from dense forest, through to lighter low-land areas to the ocean. The design reflects our ongoing interaction with the past, our engagement with the present and our hopes and aspirations for the future.
