Lucy is a passionate descendant for Dad's Iwi, Ngāti Tahinga of Waikato and her Mum's Iwi Ngāti Paoa and Ngāti Whanaunga of Hauraki. Born and raised in Papakura, south Auckland she calls herself one of the more fortunate Māori to reside only 40mins each way from her marae, turangawaewae.

Founder of NativebyNature, she collaborated closely with Crown, LG, NGOs, CRIs and Private Developers assisting them to immerse themselves into the culturescape of Tāmaki, Auckland. With 19 Mana Whenua it can be overwhelming without a guiding hand. Lucy occupies the spaces in between to demystify the pathway, bringing a place sourced culture led and community fed regenerative practice. The importance of partnering with place and providing for indigenous storytelling that then underpins how these stories are articulated is necessary.

In Feb 2022 she secured the Technical Director Regenerative Outcomes role for Mott MacDonald working across the organisation and driving national, regional and global regeneration. In July 23 she was promoted to the Senior Leadership Team Aotearoa.

Lucy has served both her Iwi in governance and operations. In 2004 she led the establishment of the Tāmaki Makaurau Regional Mana Whenua Forum of 14 entities. She has chaired Standing Committees and Mana Whenua Forums applying her skills across diverse projects, affectionately #BringingTheBrown. She is also member on the Hauraki Māori Trust Board (12 tribes) and the Ngāti Paoa Iwi Trust Board.
