Auckland Urban Design Panel is an independent design review Panel. The Panel reviews significant urban design projects for private and public sector projects across Auckland.

The key focus is to add value, raising the ‘design quality bar’ to achieve the best urban design outcomes for Auckland. Panel members are drawn from the respective professional institutes, including members from the Ngā Aho design network.

The Auckland Urban Design Panel was established to provide independent design review of significant projects, for both private and public developments across the region. For significant planning projects, it means you can get an independent peer review and free advice from the Panel before you apply. Complex issues can be dealt with, reducing time delays when resource consent applications are lodged. It also means you get consistent advice during the consenting process and, where needed, co-ordination of council departments.
