Takamore Masterplan

The Takamore Masterplan was prepared to demonstrate viable options for the future development of the Takamore cultural heritage precinct, in Waikanae. The Takamore cultural heritage precinct is a wahi tapu regitered by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (NZHPT) as a Wahi Tapu Area.

Takamore Masterplan

The Masterplan provides spatial arrangements for the construction of a new marae complex and adaptive reuse of existing structures onsite including structures for (papakainga housing) and glasshouses for the devepment of a nursery. In addition to this, the Masterplan sets out options for a new accessway connecting to the iwi's urupa as well as walking tracks through an extensive manuka wetland adjacent to the site. The masterplan promotes native plantings and wetland restoration, cultural heritage/ecological interpretation.
