Sheila Boudreau has over 25 years of landscape architecture (LA) and urban/community planning experience in Ontario, Canada. She specializes in green infrastructure (GI) and sustainable community planning, with a collaborative approach to include Indigenous voices and improve relations.
While at the City of Toronto, she co-created/co-led the Green Streets Technical Guidelines and designed and constructed the City’s first GI projects in the right-of-way. Previously with DTAH, and recently with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, Sheila contributed to the revitalization of Toronto’s Central Waterfront/East Bayfront District, was responsible for the planting designs for Evergreen Brick Works, was the design lead for The Meadoway Visualization Toolkit, and initiated/co-leads the ‘Nikibii Dawadinna Giigwag’ Indigenous youth employment/internship program.
As an instructor at Ryerson University and University of Toronto, she created a course on green infrastructure practice and praxis that included Indigenous cultural competency and exploring opportunities for Indigenous place-making.
