ARAHIA Director Karl Wixon specialises in envisioning, designing and achieving better futures through a marriage of culture, commerce and creativity. He is frequently called on as a skilled facilitator to weave together complex collaborations spanning cultures, sectors, entities and interests to develop shared vision, find direction, and deliver new systems, programmes, brand / identity, products, services and experiences.

Karl has led pioneering projects across a wide range of sectors including health, education, housing, tourism, climate, primary sector, creative sector, cultural heritage, language revitalisation, cultural and intellectual property, national identity, enterprise, indigenous export and economic development - both in New Zealand and in Manitoba, Canada, where he worked with First Nations, Industry and Government to develop an economic movement.

A founder and Co-chair of Ngā Aho Inc, the Māori Design Society, and past President of the Designers Institute of New Zealand, Karl has held numerous leadership roles, including Ministerial Appointments to the New Zealand Story Advisory the Council of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, the establishment board of Toi Mai Workforce Development Council, Ministerial Policy Advisory Group / Innovation Programme for Tourism Recovery and the Board of Hawke's Bay Tourism.
