Maree is currently working within Arts & Cultural policy planning at the Auckland City Council. She sometimes works within the film industry as well as exhibiting her video art in New Zealand and abroad.

Her own art and design practice is conceptually focused on exploring and communicating the female element in tikanga Maori and this has led to her publishing widely on Maori and ‘new’ media.

This combination of hospitality and accountability to others along with stewardship and the celebration of what is unique, help provide me with operating principles for my practice, and for living!”
