Jade hails from Te Whanau A Apanui on her mother’s side and Ngāti Tūwharetoa and Ngāpuhi on her father’s side. She joined Boffa Miskell at the end of 2014 and has more than ten years of experience in relationship development, governance and strategic policy.
Most recently, Jade worked as an Advisor to the Minister of Māori Affairs based in Parliament. She provided strategic and policy advice across a broad Maori Affairs portfolio including economic development and Maori language development and revitalisation. She has held policy positions in central and local government.
Jade brings a wide understanding of Maori cultural values and knowledge with experience in how this is applied in the context of resource management legislation. Jade is also a qualified resource management planner and provides guidance to mana whenua on consent applications and cultural impact assessments or reports.
