I am a practicing Ta Moko artist and Contemporary Maori Art Painter. Ta Moko is a sacred but living artform which reflects the wairua and indentity of the wearer. It is my responsilbilty to respect the values and beliefs of such through expression in design. Ta Moko can be very spiritual to the wearer as it is a test of endurance and I feel very privelieged when giving a recipient something sacred that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. I treat the paintings i do in same manner as i would a Ta Moko.
