The Wellington City Council Papakāinga Design Guide is a non-statutory resource integrated into the city's Proposed District Plan 2024 framework to support culturally sensitive, sustainable housing developments aligned with mana whenua values.

It was developed by Wellington City Council in partnership with Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira. The facilitation and collation of the development of the design guide was led by Dr Rebecca Kiddle and Shayna Curle.
