Ngā Aho is an incorporated network of Māori design professionals and encompasses the fields of Māori architecture, design, engineering, landscape architecture, planning, project management, mahi toi, mahi whakairo and mahi raranga – anyone who is involved in designing ‘Māori futures’!

We warmly invite you to join us in Palmerston North for our annual Ngā Aho gathering of future makers.

In accordance with our guiding kaupapa ‘Designing Māori Futures’ and our tikanga of ensuring we contribute our collective intellectual and creative capital to benefit the hau kāinga wherever we hold our hui, we will be contributing to some exciting innovation projects in Papaioea.

This is a great chance to connect with some kindred spirits to share ideas, stories, frustrations, opportunities and experiences with a group who ‘get it’ - a chance to showcase your mahi to inspire others, or to chillax and be inspired by others. This is a once-in-the-year opportunity to escape the daily grind and hang out with some cool cats doing amazing things – you might even have an epiphany or two.

We will be staying at Te Kupenga o te Mātauranga – the first marae to open at a teachers' college, alongside the Hokowhitu lagoon, traditionally renowned for its supply of tuna – under the mana of the pae maunga Ruahine and the maunga tapu Te Ahu-a-Tūranga.
