Me he pīpīwharauroa, takoto te pai-ī, takoto te pai

I am a Māori architect and design leader working across architecture, cultural design, strategy and masterplanning.

With more than 15 years’ experience across architecture, urban design, landscape and interiors, I have led and contributed to projects spanning education, health, civic, community and iwi development. I work with iwi and hapū, government agencies and multidisciplinary teams to establish shared visions, align strategic priorities and translate cultural aspirations, whakapapa and connections to whenua into meaningful contemporary design outcomes.

My leadership approach is collaborative, strategic and grounded in relationships. I support teams to navigate complexity, build trust and connect engagement, design and delivery. I believe Māori architecture is strongest when Māori are actively shaping the vision, process and outcomes—not simply represented through cultural motifs or narratives. This approach helps create places that are culturally grounded, purposeful and responsive to the communities they serve.

My areas of practice include:
• Māori and Indigenous design
• Cultural strategy and iwi/hapū engagement
• Architecture and design leadership
• Masterplanning and urban design
• Education, civic, health and community projects
• Design strategy and development

I am passionate about strengthening Māori leadership within the architectural profession and advancing collaborative models of practice. I am particularly interested in how indigenous knowledge, values and ways of seeing can shape more distinctive, equitable and enduring places across Aotearoa and the Pacific.
