TIKANGA MĀORI CO-DESIGN

My mahi includes supporting the development of Tikanga Maori Co-design in a range of ways, working alongside Māori practitioners to support and evolve co-design practice in Aotearoa so that it reflects the needs and existing know-how of Te Ao Māori. This includes supporting research and relationship building across practitioners in Aotearoa, working to promote Tikanga Māori and whānau centred design practice and supporting initiatives such as the recent Tikanga Māoari Co-design Wānanga.

TIKANGA MĀORI CO-DESIGN

Māori Co-design Network & Inaugural Tikanga Māori Co-design Wānanga The first Tikanga Māori Co-design Wānanga was held in November 2016 bringing together a multidisciplinary collaboration of committed Māori co-design practitioners, to connect, share, and learn about the practice of Māori-led co-design. Hosted by Ngā Ahō and Toi Tangata, the wānanga marked the first coming together of an emerging network of Māori co-designers, and built on kōrero, mahi and connections from across recent co-design initiatives and programmes around the motu. Attendees were welcomed onto Unitec's Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae to share stories and questions and begin to build ideas for a Maori co-design framework.
